Lake to Lake Quilt Guild adds Sweets & Treats

We have been updating the website and started a new Facebook Group page for all members to join and post. And the latest addition is moving the Sweets & Treats from the website (where they were lost) to this blog!!  Take a look and enjoy!

Trying all the links that Ann sent me. We are trying to move the Guild ahead and forge new paths for our members to use.

QBs is starting up again!  I have cleared it with Camp in the Woods.  We are set up for fourth Wednesdays, June 25th, July 23rd (which could be changed to July 30th), August 27th and September 24th.  Marie Peek will bring Procion MX dyes and we can throw color on fabric (and our clothes and the ground, etc.)  I am truly grateful for an outdoor site!  There is a cost of two dollars per person for the venue.

If you are new to QBs and would like to join the fun, please contact Marie Peek at 607-776-1561 or mbp231@earthlink.net for more info, supply lists, a fabric source, directions, etc.

If you are a familiar with the dye sessions and want to continue, please let Marie know what you would like to focus on this year and what you might want to teach or add to the mix.  Ideas include color mixing, soy wax batik and more with discharging.

There are Butterflies in My Garden Quilt - 2012

Every two years, Lake to Lake Quilt Guild (Gorham, New York) offers the public an opportunity to win a quilt and support and local cause.  The 2012 Opportunity Quilt was designed by Guild Member Lisa Woodworth, sewn by guild members and quilted by Val Schultz of Mountain View Quilting (also a member of the guild).  "There are Butterflies in My Garden" is a queen size quilt (84" x 98") and can be seen on display at various locations until October 2012 when one lucky ticket will be drawn.  Tickets are on sale through guild members for $1.00 each and will benefit Pathway Home (Hospice Home) in Seneca Falls, New York.

QBs for September

The participants in the low immersion dyeing class will be bringing their dyed fabrics to this session to discuss and compare their experiences. We will also discuss how these fabrics will be used. Everyone is welcome to attend and to bring whatever project you are currently working on.

We will meet at the church in Hall @ 9:00 a.m.  Anyone interested in dying fabric - We will be a meeting to plan and order the necessary materials for this project.  We would like to make one order and save on shipping.  So if you are interested please attend. In the meantime start saving plastic containers with lids such as cool whip or yogurt containers for transporting wet dyed fabrics.

Thompkins County Quilter's Guild Show

Dear Fellow Quilters:
The Tompkins County Quilter's Guild would like to invite you to join us for our biennial quilt show, "Traditions and Beyond 2009", being held on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th, from 10 am to 5 pm both days, at the Tompkins Cortland Community College Field House in Dryden, NY.

We do offer an admission discount on groups of 15 or more. The show will feature hundreds of quilts, soft sculpture, wearable art, demonstrations, vendors, a silent auction of approximately 50 small quilts, lectures, antique quilt turning exhibits, and a new Project Iron Quilter challenge which will benefit the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes. This year's king-sized raffle quilt is entitled "Delectable Pathways".

The vendors attending our show to date are: Quilter's Corner, My Hands to Thee, Priscilla Kibbee, Betty Sperger, Mission Rose Quiltery, Cottonpatch Quilts, Crystal Lakes Distributors, Three Bears Beads & Wears, Fieldstone House, Arrowhead Creek, Watershed Designs, All in Stitches, Basics & Beyond.

There is a large sign that will help you find the entrance. It is a very long drive way 1/2 to 1 mile long.
Starting time is 9 am.

Marie is bringing color wheels that may be purchased if you do not have one. Three dollars plus tax.

Hi All:

Just a reminder that the Newsletter informatio needs to be sent to me no later that the 20th. I try to get the late ones in but if I don't they wil go in the next newsletter. I don't check it everyday and shouldn't have to. I forward all to Ann Hawkins but if you want you can copy it to her when you send it to me. With still having to send paper copies I need the time frame established.
